Catholic Campus Ministry Serving LHU Catholics and Friends! |

One of the unique aspects of the Newman Community's student ministry is our K-9 minister of hospitality. When you visit the Newman Center, we hope that a welcome from our four-legged minister will make you feel right at home.
Brigid is our K-9 Minister-in-Training. She's a Flat-coated
Retriever puppy who celebrated her first birthday on June 8, 2008. “Flatties” are known for their happy
nature and friendly disposition. We've named her after St. Brigid of
Ireland whose hospitality was the stuff of legends. To date she's attended
retreats, Community Dinners and come along for our Hyner State Park hike.
Good Girl!

Of course, we also understand that some people are not comfortable with dogs. If that's the case, let us know and we'll take appropriate steps.
St. Brigid of Kildare was born into slavery and converted to Christianity through the ministry of St. Patrick. Brigid became a nun and ultimately the abbess of the monastery at Kildare. She was known for her compassion and generosity to the poor.
